Edo Police nabs 9 over alleged murder attempt

Edo State Police Command has apprehended nine persons over an alleged attempt to murder two individuals.

The suspected cult members, allegedly attacked Festus Osagie, 40, and Olusola Esimaje, 39, on June 15 at Ologbo, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area.

The police said, the suspects reportedly opened fire on their victims, injuring them in the process.

SP Chidi Nwabuzor, Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, confirmed the arrest to NAN in Benin.

It was gathered the victims reported the incident at the Ologbo Police Division, where operatives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where Osahon Omofuma, 38, and eight others were arrested.

The police spokesman said the victims were taken to the hospital for treatment while police commenced an investigation into the incident immediately.
