By Osaro Michael, Benin
Amb. (Hon.) Clement Tekedor Penasine, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has spoken on the call by Ijaw and Itsekiri stakeholders for him to contest the Delta State House of Assembly Warri South West seat.
In an exclusive interview with Congress News Correspondents, Tekedor expressed his gratitude for the support by lovers of good governance and effective representation, citing his unique blend of qualities that make him the ideal aspirant to address the constituency’s challenges.
He added that the calls on him were based on the love the people of Warri South West had for him, regarding his humanitarian services, respect for all and open door policy being a grassroots politician.
Tekedor further lamented over what he described as a selective treatment for the people of Warri South West by the current representative, representing the constituency in the state house of Assembly, noting that Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom, Isaba, Diebiri and others were not considered for a single constituency project.
According to his support base, Tekedor boldness and bravery would enable him to speak truth to power, while his intelligence and influence would facilitate effective advocacy for Warri South West’s development.
The coalition believes his leadership would bring much-needed peace and progress to the constituency, bridging the gap between Ijaw and Itsekiri communities.
Speaking at the exclusive interview, Amb. Tekedor said following the call on him, he has been consulting stakeholders and considering the calls deeply, maintaining that he would make a public statement soon.
Our correspondents gathered that the Tekedor’s decision to contest the seat is seen as a potential turning point in the politics of Warri South West constituency. His proven track record of unity and reconciliation in Warri and its environs bolsters his support.
