Expulsion: Embattled FCT Minister Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu vow to seek redress in court

Nyesom Wike, Ayo Fayose, and Samuel Anyanwu have vowed to seek redress in court after being expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for alleged anti-party activities. The expulsion was announced at the party’s national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, with Chief Olabode George moving the motion, which was seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed. ¹ ² ³
The expelled members include, Nyesom Wike*, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Ayo Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State, Samuel Anyanwu*, former National Secretary of PDP, Kamaldeen Ajibade*, National Legal Adviser, Mao Ohuabunwa, Senator, Umar Bature, Honourable George Turner, Honourable Dan Orbih, Chief Muhammed Abdulrahman, Acting National Chairman of Wike-led faction, Austin Nwachukwu, and Honourable Abraham Amah.
The PDP cited breaches of the party’s constitution, including supporting opposition candidates and sponsoring litigations against the party, as reasons for the expulsion. However, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has distanced himself from the decision, calling for peace and reconciliation within the party.
