FCT Resident Doctors Declare Seven-Day Warning Strike

By ESEGHA MIRACLE, BAUCHI
The Association of Resident Doctors, Federal Capital Territory Administration, has kindly informed its members to initiate a one-week warning strike from Monday, 8th September 2025, to Monday, 15th September 2025, to effectively communicate their concerns.
This announcement was shared during a press briefing in Abuja.
The doctors expressed their feelings of being treated unfairly by the FCTA, mentioning issues like unpaid salaries, allowances, and benefits, along with concerns about promotions, insufficient workforce, and the need for infrastructure upgrades, among other matters.
They emphasized the necessity for a significant improvement in the FCTA healthcare sector, highlighting that the 14 general hospitals under the Federal Capital Territory Administration are in a poor state and lack essential equipment.
In their appeal to end superficial solutions, they suggested that a state of emergency be declared in the 14 district and general hospitals within the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
