Fear, Panic As Heritage Bank Worker Carts Away N49 Billion

Fear and panic have currently overwhelmed the customers, staff and management of Heritage Bank, as one of their workers simply identified as Akin ran away with a whooping sum of N49 billion.

It was reported that when Akin resumed office from Rilwan Dabiri after he quit working with the bank as an IT expert.

Akin was handed over the IT department to monitor the financial institution’s accounts.

However, it was alleged that Akin was involved in different fraud which an unauthorized transfer of funds from the bank coffers to private accounts was part of it .

Akin as an IT personnel in the financial institution had sole access to the Finacle Financial Solution platform, which is used for transfer of funds.

He used the opportunity as an IT expert to make a multiple transfer of N49 billion into six accounts in commerical banks in Nigeria.

Akin was exposed when the Managing Director of the bank, George Taylor asked for an Internal audit, and noticed that N49 billion was missing.

During interrogation, Akin admitted to the crime and released one of the banks he had earlier transfered money into.

However, he had ran away and switched off his mobile phones.
