Football Tournament: Seimbiri, Ocholor express gratitude to Burutu leaders, stakeholders

The good people of Seimbiri ward 4 and Mrs. Lyna Aliya Ocholor, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Delta State has expressed profound gratitude to the leadership of Burutu LGA for attending the grand finale of the Seimbiri football tournament on December 24.

 

Congress learnt that the Seimbiri Football Tournament was sponsored by Mrs. Lyna Aliya Ocholor, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Delta State.

 

It was gathered that the football tournament came to a thrilling conclusion on December 24, 2024. The Unity Cup tournament, saw an impressive turnout of dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Funkekeme Solomon, Special Adviser to the Governor on Policy, and Chief Hon. Julius Takeme, Executive Chairman of Burutu LGC.

 

Others included Hon. Peres Oloye DTHA BURUTU 2, Hon Daniel Yingi former member of Delta State House of Assembly, the immediate past council chairman Hon. Combolus Ekisa and the Burutu PDP chairman, Tam Odogwu PhD.

 

However, the final match was played between Edegbene and Enekorogha communities, with Edegbene emerging victorious with a score of 1-0. Enekorogha took second place, while the Oboro team secured third position.

 

The Seimbiri PDP expressed gratitude to all attendees, particularly those who have consistently supported the unity of the Burutu PDP.

 

In a statement, Afore Theodore, Publicity Secretary of PDP Ward 4, Burutu LGA, emphasised the importance of unity within the party, especially in the face of emerging opposition.

 

Theodore appealed to the Burutu PDP leadership to come together and work towards a unified front, leveraging their “kpuruku votes” winning strategy, which had been successful since the inception of the Fourth Republic in 1999 towards 2027.

 

The event was also marked by the leadership of the party providing financial support and assistance to the three top winners of the tournament.
