Former Okigwe LGA Chairman Rescued As Security Forces Raid Imo Kidnap Camp

By Micheal Chukwuebuka
THE former Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area, Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, has been rescued in a security raid on a notorious criminal camp in Imo State.
Ogbu was abducted by a gang led by the feared kingpin known as “Gentle the Yahoo” after he reportedly visited their hideout to negotiate permission to bury his late mother. Despite collecting money from him, the gang detained him and moved him deep into their camp in the bush.
Shortly afterwards, the criminals released a video parading the lawmaker and threatening to execute him unless the Imo State Government withdrew security operatives from a location in Okigwe known as the White House.
However, in a swift and coordinated sting operation, combined security forces stormed the camp in Aku, Okigwe. The raid resulted in the killing of Gentle the Yahoo, Angel Make Up, and several other members of the gang.
More than 12 hostages, including Hon. Ogbu, were rescued alive during the operation.
