Fuel Subsidy: Imo Governor Increases Minimum Wage To N40,000

The Executive Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has increased the minimum wage of the state workers to N40,000.
This is according to his statement during briefing at the state executive council meeting on Saturday, July 15, 2023.
He stated that following the removal of fuel subsidy, the economic situation had bitten the citizens harder, and the increment of salaries is to help cushion the hardship of civil servants.
The governor added that his administration would give out soft loans, grants and provide farms tools to qualified farmers in the state.
“There shall be an immediate upward review of the salaries and wages of workers in the state, the minimum wage is hereby increased to forty thousand naira, N40,000”, he said.
He maintained that apart from the free transport which workers are enjoying, he’s going to increase the fleet of busses carrying workers to and fro.
