‎General Bako charges special forces battalion to remain resolute, aggressive, and ruthless against BHT terrorists

‎The Commander 402 Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Bako Shehu, and his entourage have conducted an operational visit to 198 Special Forces Battalion within Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai Area of Responsibility (AOR).

A statement by Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations special forces Bashir Sani said, the operational visit stated with Damaturu, the Commander paid a courtesy call on the Acting Commander Sector 2, Brigadier General Beyedi Martins, at the Sector Headquarters.

Sani further said, The Commanders proceeded to 198 Special Forces Battalion, Katarko, in the company of the Acting Commander Sector 2.

“The visit became necessary following the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) ambush on its own troops on 17 October 2025, which resulted in the loss of personnel and equipment. The statement read.

The Commander also commiserated with the unit over the unfortunate incident, after which a special prayer was offered for the eternal repose of the fallen heroes.

‎ Addressing the troops, Brigadier General Shehu boosted their morale and charged them to remain resolute, aggressive, and ruthless against the BHT terrorists.

He further provided operational guidance, including the staggering of offensive operations, aimed at enhancing effectiveness and synergy in the field.

The Commander also welcomed newly inducted soldiers to the theatre and emphasized the importance of continuous in-theatre training and rehearsals to maintain combat readiness.

On administrative matters, he enlightened the troops on the proper procedure for accessing Special Forces allowance upon completion of the SF course.

‎ In continuation of the visit, the Commander proceeded to the Yobe State Teaching Hospital, where he visited wounded-in-action (WIA) personnel and supported them with a token as a mark of empathy and encouragement.



‎ The visit was hitch-free. Troops have continued to maintain vigilance and maximum alertness, while the general situation remains calm.
