Governor Fubara Sacks Cabinet Members in Major Shake-Up

By Diafa Doubra,
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has announced the disengagement of several members of his cabinet in what is being described as a major political shake-up in the state.
According to reports, the governor’s decision came amid rising tensions within the state’s political landscape, particularly between his loyalists and those aligned with his predecessor. Although the official list of affected cabinet members has not been fully released, insiders say the move is part of efforts to reposition his administration and ensure greater loyalty and efficiency.
The governor, who has faced months of political battles, was said to have made the decision after a series of consultations with top advisers and stakeholders. Sources at the Government House in Port Harcourt revealed that the affected commissioners have already been directed to hand over to the most senior civil servants in their respective ministries.
Political observers believe the shake-up marks the beginning of a broader restructuring in the state’s governance, as Fubara seeks to consolidate his authority and strengthen his hold ahead of the coming political season.
The Rivers State Government has assured residents that the decision will not disrupt ongoing developmental projects, promising that new appointments will be announced soon to fill the vacant positions.
