Gov’ship election: IGP orders restriction of movement on Saturday

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has ordered restriction of movement in the land and waterways during this Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.
The Police Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.
The police had said the restriction would take effect from 12am of Friday to that of 6pm on Saturday.
Congress gathered the elections will take place in 28 states across Nigeria.
Adejobi added that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is excluded from this order, as no election will occur in the country’s capital.
The Force spokesperson also said officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), observers, and others on essential services are excluded from the restriction.
