Graduates Urged to Carry Values and Lessons into Future Endeavors

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Staff School in Kaduna recently held a graduation ceremony for its pupils, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.

The event was attended by prominent guests, including the Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Professor Sammani Rabo Butswat, who represented the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters.

Professor Peters, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of prioritizing education for the pupils’ future success.

Speaking through Professor Butswat, he highlighted the significance of education in shaping the pupils’ lives and encouraged them to take their studies seriously. The Deputy Vice Chancellor noted that education is key to unlocking the pupils’ potential and achieving their goals.

The Guest of Honor, Chairman House Committee on Education, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Barrister Mahmud Lawal Ismaila (alias Bola Ige), represented by the Clerk, Committee on Education, Mallam Saidu Dabo, assured the Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD) of the cooperation and support of the Kaduna State government.

He expressed the government’s willingness to partner with NOUN to uplift the quality of basic education in Kaduna State.

The PTA Chairman, Barrister Abbas, expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olufemi Peters, for the building of classrooms and support to the school. He thanked the Vice Chancellor for his commitment to providing quality education to the pupils.

The Director, Centre for Human Resource Development (CHRD), Professor Aminu Umar, expressed his appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for the support to the school and Kaduna campus of NOUN.

He extolled the qualities of the DVC Administration and Chairman, NOUN Staff School Governing Board, Professor Isaac Butswat, for the effective leadership provided in uplifting the school.

Professor Umar also advised the PTA and community to close ranks with the CHRD to exploit the privileges provided by NOUN to enhance quality education in the community, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.

The School Administrator, Mrs. Maryam Usman Kida, congratulated the graduating class on their achievement and praised their commitment to education and personal growth.

She highlighted the importance of hand skills, which were introduced earlier in the year to enhance creativity and develop practical skills among pupils.

Mrs. Kida also expressed gratitude to the NOUN Management for their unwavering support and commitment to excellence, which has enabled the school to provide a conducive environment for pupils to thrive academically and personally.

The event concluded with a call to action for the graduates to carry the values and lessons they have learned into their future endeavors. Congratulations were extended to the class of 2025, with wishes for a bright future ahead.
