By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
For peace to reign, the Niger Delta Youth Council ( NDYC ) has pleaded to the young people of the Niger Delta to shun violence that can disturb the peace of the area.
Mr Abido Jator, the organisation’s national coordinator, in Abuja, begged the aggrieved youths to please stop their planned protest against the Niger Delta Development Commission ( NDDC ) Administration.
The aggrieved youths stated that the NDDC management did not support them and failed to meet their needs.
Jator, in his statement, said that he stopped the planned protest at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, adding that the Niger Delta region has had enough of violence and should by now learn and embrace peace.
Mr Jator said that the pursuit of peace is very important to both the social and economic progress of the region.
However, Mr Jator, who is the coordinator of the organisation, said that he’s going to use his influence to bring the aggrieved youths together and make sure they embrace peace and bring the issues to a swift conclusion.
Jator added that if the Commission did not resolve the aggrieved youths’ needs, the Public should hold him accountable.
