Gunmen Demand N10m for Release Of Ondo Islamic Cleric

Following an abduction of 16 passengers on a commercial bus in Ose Local Government of Ondo state, a week ago, another popular Islamic cleric, Ibrahim Bodunde Oyinlade, has been abducted by suspected gunmen.

Ibrahim who is the Chief Imam of Uso Community was kidnapped on Saturday, June 17, 2023.

According to the report, the Chief Imam was Kidnapped on his farm by four suspected gunmen. A source who prove anonymous stated that “He was on his farm at Asolo camp when the armed men bounced on him at gunpoint and took him away.”

However, some local hunters have begun to search for him in the bushes in an attempt to rescue him.

The incident was confirmed by the state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami.

She maintained that the abduction of the 667-year-old Islamic cleric was reported to the state police command.

The spokesperson asserted that the Divisional Police Officers in charge of the station and his men are already with local Vigilantes to search and rescue the cleric.
