Terror struck a quiet community in Kwara State late Monday night as heavily armed men launched a coordinated attack, abducting several residents and plunging the area into panic.

According to eyewitnesses, the assailants stormed the village around midnight, shooting sporadically to scare locals before breaking into homes. Several people, including women and young men, were reportedly taken away by the attackers, who later escaped into a nearby forest.

Residents described the ordeal as terrifying, saying the gunmen operated freely for nearly an hour without any response from security agencies. Many families have fled the community, fearing the attackers might return.

Local vigilantes and police officers have since begun a joint search operation to rescue the abducted victims and restore calm to the area. Authorities have assured residents that efforts are underway to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
