House Of Reps Speaker Declares Surulere Constituency Seat Vacant As Gbajabiamila Resigns

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, has declared the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency Seat vacant following the official resignation of the erstwhile lawmaker and former Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Abbas on Wednesday read Gbajabiamila’s resignation letter which was presented on the floor of the house.

Recall, Gbajabiamila tendered his resignation as a lawmaker after bagging a new appointment from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would need to conduct a fresh election to fill the vacant seat.
