How Over 85 People Bought Aso-Ebi, Attended Dog’s N490k Naming Ceremony

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
A Nigerian dog lover simply identified as Ochonma Joseph, has narrated how his dog named Nike spent N490,000 on her naming ceremony.
According to Joseph, when his dog ( NIKE ) was pregnant and exceeded the time of delivery, he went ahead to do a scan, spiritual bath and baby shower for her.
After he did all for his dog and she finally gave birth to the puppies, his online fans told him that he must have a naming ceremony, which he believed to be a joke but later turns a reality.
Joseph maintained that he didn’t spend his money on the naming ceremony as all funds spent were donated by dog lovers from Canada, the UK, the US, Australia and a few people in Nigeria.
He stated that the total income for the naming ceremony was N490,000, and before the naming, the dog lovers had earlier sent funds for Nike’s welfare, and for the feedings of the puppies.
Joseph asserted that the Aso-Ebi was sold at N4000 for 6 yards, which is a passport to enter the naming ceremony, and not less than 85 people bought it.
However, the naming ceremony was celebrated with a security guard on standby, a well-decorated sitting area, a well-decorated Photo shot area, and a naming ceremony cake having a picture of the dog on it.
Joseph stressed that his landlady doesn’t like him and his dog because he named her NIKE, and has warned her several time to take the dog out of the building, however, after he threw a naming ceremony for the dog, he took the dog and her puppies to a friend’s house pending the time he’s going to get another apartment.
The name of the puppies are, Ibrahim, Ade, Femi, Latifat, Monika, Modinat, Rofiat, and Rose.
