The Organization for Human and People’s Rights Protection and Humanitarian (OHPRPH) has urged the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to launch a full-scale investigation into the recent incident involving Ms. Comfort Emmanson, a passenger on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.

In a statement signed by its National President, Comrade Ezekiel Kagbala, and made available to journalists in Warri, Delta State, on Tuesday, the group stressed the need to protect fundamental human rights and ensure justice is served.

OHPRPH expressed deep concern over the treatment of Ms. Emmanson, who was reportedly accused of being disruptive during the flight. The statement described the viral video showing her being dragged by airline personnel as not only chaotic but also degrading, particularly as her upper body was indecently exposed in the footage.

The group condemned the actions of those who filmed and leaked the video, insisting that such behavior violates Ms. Emmanson’s dignity and privacy, and reflects a lack of professionalism. They called for accountability, stressing that airline staff must handle sensitive situations with respect and compassion.

“Every individual has the right to dignity and respect, especially during stressful or misunderstood situations,” the statement read. “We urge Minister Keyamo to take this matter seriously and conduct a fair investigation to uphold the rights of all passengers.”

OHPRPH also encouraged the public to remain engaged and support efforts to ensure justice and dignity for everyone, regardless of their circumstances.
