Ijaw leader, Agediga loses mother

Prominent Niger Delta leader and chairman of the Delta State Scholarship/Bursary Board Delta State has lost his beloved mother Mrs Binkayai Enerekpemi Agediga (Nee Aruwei) at the age of 104.

Mama until her death, was the oldest woman in the community and was reportedly passed away at the ripe age on the morning hours Saturday 19th July 2025 following a brief illness and prompt medical attention.

The centenarian hailed from Sokobolou community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, She was known to be cheerful during her lifetime.

However, the Management of Congress Newspaper sent a condolence message to Amb. Agediga and family.

The statement reads, “Mama lived a full life, she died at the right age, however, we will forever miss her but her legacy will live after her. It is part of our prayers that may her soul rest in peace, and may the family find strength and comfort during this time of mourning.

Meantime, the burial date of late mama Binkayai Enerekpemi Agediga would be announced by the family at due time.
