The Ijaw Women Rights Protection Forum’, IWRPF, has called on the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori to intervene and complete the long-abandoned Ayakoromo Bridge Project, adding that the bridge’s neglect has caused immense hardship, with businesses collapsing, economic activities stagnating, and access to essential services severely limited.

Comrade Hilda Amogha, President of the Ijaw Women Rights’ Protection Forum, expressed the community’s pain and frustration, questioning why Ayakoromo has been left behind in development. She urged the governor to treat the matter with urgency, citing his commitment to inclusive and equitable development.

The Ijaw women acknowledges the government’s efforts in other parts of the state but seeks clarification on why this critical project remains abandoned. The completion of the bridge would restore hope, revive livelihoods, and reconnect the community.

The appeal highlights the human impact of the project’s neglect, with poor transportation, lack of potable water, and inadequate electricity supply worsening living conditions in the community. The women seek answers, justice, and action from the governor.
