INEC delineation: Diebiri owns Ugbanabou, ignore those laying false claims – Alex Feminine, community chairman

By Osaro Michael, Benin
The chairman of the Ugbanabou Federated Community in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr Alex Ebi Feminine has outrightly condemned moves by what he described as suspected trouble makers to falsely lay claim to the Ugbanabou community which was outrightly belongs to the Diebiri community.
According to him, the people who live and reside in Ugbanabou Community were Diebiri People and not Ogbe-Ijoh as claimed by some people.
The chairman also urged the government to intervene and put an end to the issue before it escalated into a full-blown conflict.
He said, “We call on the appropriate authorities to step in and put a stop to these false claims before it leads to conflicts because we don’t want conflict with anybody.
Mr. Alex Feminine also stated that the Ugbanabou community has been a peaceful and harmonious place until these recent claims surfaced.
He also assured the people that the Diebiri community will continue to peacefully coexist with their neighbours, including the Ogbe-Ijoh community.
The community chairman concluded by warning those behind the false claims to refrain from their actions, stating that legal actions will be taken against anyone involved in making false claims.
The community added further, “it is clear that the people of Ugbanabou belong to the Diebiri community and any attempt by outsiders to falsely claim the community will not be tolerated.
“I advise those who are laying false claims to desist from it. The public should ignore people parading with fraudulent documents to claim the Ugbanabou Community.
“Our forefathers who founded the community are from Diebiri, these are historical facts that elders of the Ogbe-Ijoh community are aware of. My attention was drawn to someone’s false claims posted on the internet claiming ownership of Ugbanabou, which is wrong.
“The Diebiri People are the owners of Ugbanabou and its surroundings from time immemorial. History has it that till the recent times no one has ever laid claim over the Ugbanabou Community, I strongly advise those persons to retrace their steps because they do not have the authorization from the community to do so.” they added.
