The Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Western Zone Information Officer Comrade Tare Magbei, has scheduled a two-day digital skills bootcamp training which is aimed at equipping Ijaw youths with practical media and technology competencies.

In a statement, he said the programme tagged ‘Media Management, Content Creation, and AI Prompting Bootcamp’ will hold from February 13 to 14, 2026, and is designed to strengthen youth participation in advocacy, storytelling, and community engagement across the Western Zone.

According to the statement, a total of 50 participants would be trained in hands-on media and digital skills, with additional exposure to income-earning opportunities in the media and creative sectors.

It further added that the participants would be drawn from all Information Officers within the IYC Western Zone as well as selected youths from the 24 clans that make up the zone.

However, the initiative, spearheaded by the IYC Western Zone Information Officer, Comrade Magbei, reflects a strong commitment to youth empowerment through capacity building and the adoption of relevant digital tools in today’s fast-evolving media space.

The bootcamp is perceived as a timely intervention that will not only strengthen advocacy efforts but also improve employability and digital relevance among Ijaw youths.
