June 12: Nigeria will only know peace when Niger Delta is treated with utmost respect

Following this year’s democracy day celebration, angry Niger Delta stakeholders have said the country will not know peace except the region is allowed to control her natural resources.

Speaking in an interview over the State of the Nation, Comrade Ozobo Austin explained that any president of Nigeria coming to power with a parochial motive to steal Niger Delta oil resources would be resisted.

According to him, the region is not begging for development but should be allowed to control its resources to develop the people.

He said President Tinubu should gather the political will to end the marginalization and deprivation of Niger Delta and Southern Nigeria.

The activist maintained that the region would work with Tinubu only when he is ready to free them from the age-long marginalization and deprivation.
