Amogha emphasised on strengthening local vigilante groups in partnership with security agencies to curb abductions and restore peace of mind, adding that sensitizing citizens on the dangers of mob justice and the importance of protecting human rights.
Hilda maintained that children should never be used as pawns in crime, and women, regardless of suspicion, should not be subjected to extrajudicial killings. The forum urged the state government and security agencies to prioritize Agbarho’s safety and take concrete steps to prevent further violence killings and child abduction.
“We cannot afford to let such incidents become a norm in our community,” Hilda stressed. “The government and security agencies must act swiftly to restore trust and ensure justice is served.” Children must be protected and measures must be put in place to end further abduction. Again, jungle justice must be avoided, people should not rush into killing suspects, proper investigation should be done and allow the court to pronounce such death warrants on suspects”, Amogha noted.
