JUST IN: Investors, leaders, personalities to grace Lagos International Deep Seaport Investment Forum March 30

Lagos will be hosting the 1st historic International Deep Seaport Investment Forum on March 30, 2026, a landmark event that promised to showcase the city’s and Nigeria’s potential as a major maritime hub. The forum will bring together stakeholders, investors, and distinguished personalities from across the country and beyond to explore opportunities in the maritime sector.
Congress news gathered that the event will feature the prestigious Marine Man of the Year Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to the maritime industry. This award ceremony aimed to honor distinguished personalities who have made significant impacts in the sector.
The event is organized by Elder Asu Beks, the CEO of Maritime Media Ltd, publisher of Shipping World, a prominent maritime news magazine. Asu Beks has been recognized for his fearless reporting, which has led to significant impacts, including exposing anomalies in government programs.
The forum is expected to spotlight investment opportunities in Nigeria’s deep seaports, including the recently completed $1.5 billion Lekki Deep Seaport in Lagos. Other projects to be showcased include the Badagry Deep Seaport, Ondo Deep Seaport, Ibom Deep Seaport, and Bonny Deep Seaport, which are expected to attract significant investments and create thousands of jobs.
According to Muazu Sambo, Minister of Transportation, the Badagry Deep Seaport is estimated to generate $53.6 billion in revenue over its 45-year concession period and create around 250,000 jobs. The Lekki Deep Seaport is expected to commence operations soon, and its success is expected to be replicated across other parts of the country.
