The Delta State police command has debunked a report alleging that suspected gunmen reportedly abducted the 24-year-old daughter of a newspaper vendor and eight other passengers in a bus along the Jesse-Oben Road in Delta State.

Recall, a purported report had alleged that the incident occurred just before Oben, a town bordering Edo and Delta states.

However, the state’s police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe in a news chat with Congress newspaper on Saturday refuted the report.

The statement reads, “This likely happened in Edo. Let’s try and always confirm before writing our report. This incident happened in Edo state, so kindly call the PPRO for an official response. Help me talk to our colleagues not to tag Delta in it. We are going through a lot already.”
