The Souraghagbene community in Warri South West Local Government council of Delta State has sworn in Mr Arthur Mokena as new chairman, promising commitment to the community development and wellbeing.

The newly Inaugurated Chairman Mr Arthur Mokena in a powerful acceptance speech has outlined his vision for the community, emphasizing unity, accountability, and progress. He pledged to lead with integrity, transparency, and courage, promising a departure from “business as usual”.

Speaking at the historic event he said, “Mokena’s administration will be committed to upholding the constitution, defending the will of the people, and ensuring fairness and accountability in decision-making”.

He vowed to work with his executive team to manage resources prudently, promote unity, and deliver inclusive and responsive leadership.

However, Mokena acknowledged the sacrifices of security agencies and pledged to build a strong partnership with them. “We will not tolerate any form of lawlessness; the safety of our people remains non-negotiable,” he declared.

The Chairman called on community members to put aside personal interests and support his vision, emphasizing that the administration belongs to the people and is committed to building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous community.

“We recognize that no meaningful development can thrive without peace and security,” Mokena stated, expressing gratitude to security agencies, especially the military, for maintaining law and order.

Mokena’s speech concluded with a rallying cry: “This is our moment. This is our responsibility. And by the grace of God, we will not fail.” He urged all members of the Souraghagbene community, including those in the diaspora, to join him in building a brighter future.
