JUST IN: Veteran Journalist Asu Beks Honored Among Nigeria’s 70 Best

The Nigerian Institute of Journalism in Ikeja, Lagos, played host to a gathering of esteemed journalists on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, as 70 veteran journalists were honored for their contributions to the profession. Among the awardees was Asu Beks, a renowned journalist who was recognized for his dedication and commitment to the field.
The Journalists Clinic, the organization behind the recognition, celebrated the achievements of these veteran elders, who have demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and a passion for storytelling. The event was attended by prominent figures in the industry, including Sam Amuka, Publisher of Vanguard, Tunde Thomas, Onome Osifo, Sunny Irabor, and other notable journalists.
Other notable awardees included Pat Oke, Yemi Ogunbiyi, Muyiwa Adetiba, Yakubu Mohammed, and Liad Tella, among others. The recognition ceremony was a testament to the impact these journalists have had on the profession and their contributions to the growth of journalism in Nigeria.
