Kano Hospital Management Suspends Health Workers For Shunning Night Duty

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Over shunning night duty, the Kano State Hospital Management Board has removed the Chief Medical Officers of three different healthcare centres in the state.
According to the report, the chief medical officers are from Imam Wali General Hospital, Abubakar Imam Urology Center, and Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital.
This is according to a statement signed by Samira Sulaiman, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital’s management, on Tuesday.
He stated that the CMDs were suspended due to their work negligence, and their suspension was affirmed by the Executive Secretary of Hospital Management, Dr Mansur Nagoda
Information gathered maintained that the health workers abandoned their duties by absenting themselves from night duty, and having patients in the hands of student doctors.
He stated that the hospital board would not condone negligence and lateness in duties.
However, Nagoda called on hospitals to work effectively as facilities would be monitored closely to revive the health sector.
