By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Ijumu APC Progressive Minds, a social political group in Kogi state has demanded the immediate removal of Senator Smart Adeyemi from the party over alleged frivolous claims.
Ijumu is a group of members from a political ward, in the Ijumu Local Government Area of the state where Adeyemi hailed from. Mr Toyin Kamaldeen, the group’s president, pointed out during a news conference on Tuesday that the APC governorship primary election in the state was free and fair.
Recall, Smart Adeyemi on Monday, April 17 went on a live TV show to claim that no primary election was conducted by APC in Kogi on April 14.
Adeyemi said, “None of us had the privilege to vote because there was no voting in Kogi.”
Smart claimed that the ruling party, APC simply wrote the result which was a rape of democracy, a disgrace and a betrayal of those who laid down their lives for democracy in Nigeria.
The Ijumu group disagreed with Adeyemi and urged APC to immediately expel him before he becomes cancerous to the party.
