Labour Party Cries Out Over Party Chairman Withdrawal of Petition Against Tinubu

By Sola Omoniyi, Lagos
Over an alleged withdrawal of petition by the Labour Party chairman, against Nigeria’s president-elect, Bola Tinubu, by Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, the party has cried out.
It was reported that Mr Apata allegedly approached the tribunal to withdraw all the cases lodged by Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.
According to the report, it was learnt that Mr Apata is working against the party and in favour of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Obiorah Ifoh, Labour Party National Publicity Secretary stated in a release on Tuesday that the suspended National Chairman, Lamidi Apata has embarked on a mission to frustrate the party’s petition to have the outcome of the February 25 presidential election upturned in favour of Peter Obi.
“Approaching the tribunals to withdraw all the cases lodged by Labour Party candidates across the board is the height of subterfuge and treachery, and Nigerians will resist this ploy to plunge the nation into unnecessary turmoil. The statement reads
“Their actions show that they are working against the party and that they are working to destroy the party. If they claim that they have a problem with the national leadership of the party, will they also claim that they have a problem with the candidates of the party? What offence have the candidates of the party committed that they are now moving around to withdraw their matters from the tribunal,” he added.
