Man Arrested for Always Stealing Worshippers’ Shoes at Mosques in Jigawa

A suspected thief has been apprehended for allegedly stealing worshippers’ shoes during prayers at a mosque in Jigawa State.

According to reports, the suspect is believed to have been involved in similar thefts across several mosques over an extended period.

However, the total number of shoes stolen, as of the time of filing this report, remained unknown.

A witness, Muhammed Sani Yusuf, said the latest incident occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at a mosque located along Maje Road in Hadejia.

He noted that the suspect was caught in the act, putting an end to what is suspected to be a long-running pattern of theft in the area.
