In the Ogun State capital of Abeokuta, at the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, an unidentified man who was struck by a hit-and-run driver has passed away.
According to Segun Orisajo, Head of Public Relations and Information at Ogun FMC, the individual was brought to the hospital by a few police officers.
At Tekobo Junction, which is across from Ogun State International Montessori School in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, on Friday, the car struck the victim and then escaped.
Orisajo said in a statement on Saturday that the victim passed away soon after being taken by some Kemta police officers to the Federal Medical Center Abeokuta’s Accident and Emergency Unit.
Orisajo noted that the victim’s name is still unknown and urged anyone who might know of a lost relative to get in touch with the hospital’s morgue in order to help identify the deceased.
According to the statement: “The case of an unidentified individual who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver at Tekobo Junction, across from Ogun State International Montessori School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, yesterday (Friday), is brought to the public’s attention.
“Some officers from Kemta took the man to the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta’s Accident and Emergency Unit, but shortly after, medical staff pronounced him dead.
Nothing on the individual that could have helped in identifying him, hence his identity is still unknown either him or his kin.
“The hospital morgue should be contacted by the general public if they may have a missing relative in order to potentially identify the deceased.”
