Meinbutu BoT chairman, Moni congratulates Tompolo on Honourary Doctorate Degree

The Meinbutu board of trustee chairman Comrade Ebis Moni, Wednesday congratulated the living-legend Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo for the conferment of the Honourary Doctorate Degree on him by the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Warri South West LGA, Delta State.

This was contained in a statement signed by himself which a copy of it was sent to Congress correspondent on Wednesday.

The ex-warlord said he was overwhelmed with the honour given to Tompolo following his antecedent in the Niger Delta emancipation struggle.

The statement reads, “I am overwhelmed with joy for the honour given to him because he deserves it. He had been in the Niger Delta struggle, fighting for the emancipation, development, peace and unity of the oppressed and degraded Niger Delta people over two decades.

“Tompolo deserves this honour, we pray for more higher honours for him. He single-handedly shouldered the Niger Delta struggle and he did well. I pray to the almighty God to give him long life, more wisdom and strength to continue to pilot the affairs of the region to a greater heights, in Jesus name,” the statement reads.
