Mob sets ablaze suspected cultist in Delta

A yet-to-be-identified notorious cultist was allegedly set ablaze in the Ewu community in Ughelli’s North Local Government Area of Delta state during the week.

It was gathered that the cult leader was killed when he used a battle axe to butcher a young man on the head in the community following a minor disagreement.

According to a source, the angry mob apprehended him as he was attempting to escape after killing the man. It was learned the mob was at first beating him to a pulp before setting him on fire.

The source who pleaded anonymity said many have fled the community for fear of being killed by the deceased notorious cultist.

However, efforts to reach the Delta State Police Command spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe for comment proved abortive.
