MRAI describes Pro-Ojogo group as enemy of Arogbo, says group’s poor response has further bastardise his reputation

By Monday Peters, Abuja
A group under the Movement for the Rights of Arogbo-Ibe (MRAI) has vehemently condemned a statement made by Pro-Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo group, exonerating him of poor representation in the House of representatives, representing Ese-do federal constituency in Ondo State, while describing the group as enemy of Arogbo Ijaw people in the state.
According to the group, the publication, which publicly listed names of supposed beneficiaries and the ₦50,000 amount given to each, was not a gesture of goodwill but a calculated and systematic ploy to insult the sensibilities of leaders who have served selflessly and represented Arogbo-Ijaw with dignity.
The group described the Arogbo Ijaw Monitoring Council (AIMC) as faceless, accused Comrade Saviour Kimiemi recently published list of empowerment arising from their (MRAI) recent call for stewardship was to insult and embarrass highly respected and revered leaders and the collective sensibilities of the entire Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom.
This is according to a statement signed by Hosea T. Ebikontei, Coordinator and Bomi Stanley, secretary in which a copy was sent to the newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.
MRAI however, acknowledged the need for empowerment and appreciated the donor’s intention to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal occasioned by the economic policies of the current administration, but totally rejected the manner and motive in which it was politicised and used as a tool for humiliation and division.
They emphasised “It is shameful and unacceptable that Hon. Ojogo, instead of accounting for his poor stewardship and underwhelming political impact, has resorted to using anonymous platforms to insult, discredit, and spread falsehoods against genuine stakeholders of our kingdom,” said Hosea T. Ebikontei, Coordinator of MRAI.
“We advise Hon. Ojogo to emulate leaders like Hon. Victor Kolade Akinjo, the former House of Representatives member for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, whose two years performance and developmental contributions remain visible and impactful.
“Rather than hiding behind fabricated groups like AIMC to manipulate public opinion, Hon. Ojogo should confront the reality of his zero performance in two years. The people of Arogbo-Ibe are politically enlightened and can no longer be deceived by false narratives.
“We further caution our brothers from the Gbaramatu axis to be wary of him, as Donald Ojogo has a history of betrayal and political backstabbing. He has consistently played the role of a Judas to the Arogbo cause.
“As a movement committed to defending the dignity, truth, and collective interest of the Arogbo people, the MRAI urges all public figures to uphold responsible leadership, show respect for elders, and practice transparent, people-oriented governance”, they added.
