N/Delta region Celebrates Brig.Gen. Diriyai On Promotion, Storms Decoration Ceremony

Niger Delta Youths have expressed their appreciation over the deserved promotion of Brigadier General Woyengibarakemi Diriyai who was promoted alongside five other officers.

Recall, the promoted officers were decorated at a ceremony held at the DIA headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Niger Delta Youth Leader and a prominent activist, Honourable Daniel Ezekiel described the promotion of Brig. Gen. Diriyai as well deserved and an honour to the Niger Delta in general and Ijaw nation in particular.

He said, “It is a thing of joy being here today, the 5th of December with my fellow Niger Delta Youths to honour and solidarise, rally around and celebrate with one of our own Brigadier General Diriyai. Personally, I am extremely joyful. Joyful in the sense that, he is someone that I have known over the years, right from when he was a Lieutenant Colonel.

“We worked together on several projects, because as a Senior Special Assistant to Delta State government on security matters,he took me in under his wing,through which he tutored me. When he was Chief of Staff 4th Brigade, Nigerian Army, Benin City,Edo State, he showed me why Nigerian Army is the doyen of security, and I learnt a lot from him. He is a very humane person, down to earth and humble. He operates what I called an open door policy. He doesn’t allow his position in society to have a better of him.

“So, it is a thing of joy. If you look at his rise, he is someone that carries grace. In the entire Niger Delta, he is the only person that moves through this Ladder, this promotion in the whole Ijaw nation. You can see grace upon such a man. That’s why we came all the way from the Niger Delta to come and celebrate with him.

“Our prayer is that, the good Lord who has taken him this far will continue to protect, guide his path and continue to uplift him. As we come to celebrate his position of Brigadier General. We’ll still come to celebrate that of Lieutenant General and that of the full flesh General”.

He therefore called on the people of Niger Delta, particularly the Ijaw nation to see the promotion of Brig. Gen. Diriyai as a gift and a cause to celebrate his success as a good Ambassador who works diligently for the nation.
