NAF Airstrikes Destroy Major Terrorist Logistics, Defensive Base in Zamfara
By Micheal Chukwuebuka
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma has destroyed a major terrorist stronghold and meeting point hidden within hilly terrain in Zamfara State.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of NAF Public Relations and Information, the breakthrough followed precision air interdiction missions carried out on 14 November 2025 at the Sauri bandit camp in Tsafe Local Government Area.
He explained that the operation was launched after extensive intelligence and surveillance confirmed heightened terrorist activity and rustled livestock being kept at a high-ground hideout used as both a defensive base and logistics hub.
“Based on this intelligence, the Air Component conducted several coordinated strike passes, delivering direct hits that forced surviving terrorists to flee into nearby vegetation, where they were tracked and neutralised,” Ejodame said.
The operation resulted in the elimination of multiple terrorists and the destruction of key structures and supply points, significantly weakening the group’s capacity in the area.
He added that the mission reflects the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, who has vowed that the NAF will “find them, hunt them down, and protect our people.”
The NAF said the strike further demonstrates the determination of Operation Fansan Yamma to deny terrorists safe havens, strengthen security in Zamfara, and support broader national efforts to restore peace across the Northwest.
