NBTE lauds for strategic approach to reduce unemployment and curb insecurity – Emir of Kaura

The Zamfara State first class Emir said plans on the pipeline to empower physically challenged persons with vocational skills to promote self reliance and boost the economy of the state.
The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Major Sanusi Muhammed Asha (rted) stated this while flagging off the NBTE Accredited TVET initiative program at Kaura Namoda town.
The Royal Father also lauds Professor Idris M. Bugaje, the Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for providing these golden opportunities to the jobless teaming Youths in Nigeria.
“This initiative of joining traditional education and Vocational Skills will tremendously address a lot of societal problems and also develop Nigeria’s economy. The Royal Father said.
In his lecture presentation, a lecturer with Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda and one of the program facilitators, Engr Salisu Bala said, The program is a collaborative effort between the Federal Ministry of Education and Al-Mustaqill School of Technology and Vocational Training.
“President Tinubu deserves to be commended for empowering Youth with vocational education to boost the country’s economy and I urged civil servants both retired and those that are about to, join this vocational skills to build up your career after service. Engr. Bala urged.
Engr. Bala said, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) program initiative was designed to address critical challenges within Nigeria’s education system and labor market by integrating comprehensive skills training into the national education framework.
“The program seeks to bridge the gap between traditional academic learning and practical vocational education. Engr. Bala said.
Engr. Bala also loud president Tinubu for initiative such a strategic approach aims at reducing unemployment, alleviating poverty, and curb insecurity thereby equipping learners with employable and innovative skills.
“The initiative emphasizes practical, sustainable, and self-reliance-oriented learning. fostering a shift in the mindset of Nigerian students toward innovation, productivity, and hands-on engagement. Engr. Bala stated.
Also in his presentation, former state commissioner, Hon. Nasiru Makwashe said, the NBTE TVET Initiative Program, approved twelve (12) to offer in the institution on trades which includes, Poultry Farming, Tailoring/Fashion Design and Charmed making, Catering and Hotel Management Hospitality among others.
The Acting registrar Mal. Abdulrahaman Sani said, 167 students were allocated to the institution to undergo six months of vocational skills with monthly stipend and take off packages after graduations all from the Federal Government.
The trainees were drowned across 14 LGA’S of the state by the NBTE for the TVET program.
The theme of the program is Empowering Youth through Technical and Vocational Skills for Sustainable Development.
