Niger Delta Activist Ozobo Writes Rivers’ Elders, Leaders, Stakeholders to Back Fubara’s Re-election Bid
By Monday Peters, Abuja
A leading Niger Delta activist Snr Ozobo Austin had called on Rivers State elders, leaders, and stakeholders to rally behind Governor Siminialayi Fubara’s re-election bid, dismissing the political maneuvers of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, as desperate attempts by a “money and power drunk” individual.
In a statement, the activist expressed dismay at Wike’s attempts to undermine Fubara’s administration, describing it as a clear sign of frustration and lack of confidence in his own political standing.
“Rivers people, it’s time to stand up and defend our mandate. Governor Fubara has shown remarkable leadership, and it’s imperative we support him to continue delivering on his promises to the people,” the activist said.
The call comes amid heightened tensions between Fubara and Wike, who has been accused of using his influence to destabilize the state government.
The activist urged Rivers residents to ignore Wike’s “tricks” and focus on re-electing Fubara, citing his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development, education, and healthcare.
“Governor Fubara is committed to the progress of Rivers State, and we must stand with him to ensure continuity and prosperity,” the statement added.
