Nigeria Extradites Wanted Chinese Gang Leader

In a rare show of international cooperation, Nigerian authorities have extradited Dai Qisheng, a Chinese gang leader wanted for serious crimes, back to China.
Dai had been on the run since 2024 after fleeing Guizhou province. He was tracked down and arrested in Abuja on August 8, 2025, following a joint operation between Interpol and the Nigerian police.
Officials say his extradition marks a significant step in tackling cross-border organized crime, with Nigeria pledging continued collaboration with international security agencies. The move has been praised as a strong signal that the country will not serve as a safe haven for fugitives.
