A Nigerian Army officer, Lieutenant Samson Haruna, has died from severe burns after his wife allegedly set him ablaze during a domestic dispute in Akwa Ibom State.
Congress News learnt that the incident occurred at the Wellington Bassey Barracks in Ibagwa, Abak Local Government Area. The development was revealed by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday.
According to accounts shared by Makama, Lt. Haruna, a medical doctor serving as the Regimental Medical Officer with the 6 Battalion, had a heated argument with his wife, Mrs Samson Haruna, during which she allegedly doused him with petrol and set him on fire.
