In celebration of Workers’Day, Mr. Yusuf Bello, the chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress has pleaded with the state government to implement N30,000 minimum wage to Local government workers.

It was reported that Gombe had only implemented the minimum wage for only state government workers.

Mr Yusuf speaking at the celebration of the 2023 May Day at Pantami stadium, he acknowledged and appreciated the commitment of the state governor, Muhammadu Yahaya.

“Since the minimum wage committee is a standing committee, we are appealing that the committee should reconvene with immediate effect to look imo the implementation of the minimum wage to local Government employees, the outstanding balance to some ministries in the state service and other issues associated with the implementation of the minimum wage across board in the state.” Yusuf said.

In attendance of the Workers’ Day celebration at the Pantami stadium are trade unions and allied bodies.
