Former political Adviser to the Vice president Kashim Shettima, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Yeriman Jama’a described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s replacement of the service chiefs as the attractive external appearance of the newly appointed service chiefs might not necessarily be an indication of overcoming the bedevilled decades of security changes affecting the country.

Dr. Hakeem shares his perception as one of the leading political Scientists in the country and also spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum on his social media handle.

Dr. Hakeem said, there are vital questions that beg for President Tinubu’s response.

“President Tinubu sacked service chiefs and appointed new ones, left to him, might be the president wasn’t satisfied with the ways and manners they are leading the Nigerian Army or they were sacked because of the wide spread rumors of attempted military topple or put it all together, our own is “Not all that glitters is gold, hungry predators ate dry skin” Dr. Hakeem expressed.

“You sacked service chiefs and appointed others from the same click of top military in service, are you sure that they might end up following the same roots of their predecessors? The Army are gallants and sacrificed themselves to the battlefield with the provided hardware. What up those responsible for providing and as well supplying military the hardware for the army to work perfectly? Dr. Hakeem asked.

The Yeriman Jama’a further said, president Tinubu is the commander in-chief of the armed forces with the help of Defence ministers and advisors as co-partners of the former service chiefs but nothing has been said about their positions.

“President Tinubu is the commander in-chief of the armed forces and he has two Defence ministers, security advisors all are civilians, apart from an intelligent agency. All these ones will they still be permanently in their positions? Dr. Hakeem added more questions.

Yeriman Jama’a also said, Nigerians need to see prompt response and positive results on the bedevilled security challenges affecting the country.

“We need positive actions as “seeing is believing” regarding this military shack up but if the revised is the case, we must go back to the drowning book and form entirely new security architecture for Nigeria. We are hopeful that, the burning issues will come to an end with this development. Dr. Hakeem said.
