Obasa Elected For 3rd Consecutive Term As Lagos Speaker

Hon Mudashiru Obasa has been re-elected for a third consecutive term as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

Obama, who is representing Agege Constituency 1, emerged as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly following his nomination by Hon. Adewale Adedeji (Ifako Ijaiye Constituency) and seconded by Hon. Sylvester Ogunlely (Epe 2 constituency)

His re-election to lead the new Assembly came after the proclamation and subsequent inauguration by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu on Tuesday.

He was elected unanimously by all the members after no other member was nominated for the position of speakership.

The representative of the Apapa I, Hon. Mojisola Meranda was elected as the Deputy Speaker.

Other elected principal officers are Hon. Noheem Babatunde Adams (Majority Leader), Hon. Adedamola Kasumu (Deputyajoritu Leader), Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adegbola ( Chief Whip) and Hob. David Samuel Setonji (Deputy Chief Whip).

Meanwhile, Gov. Sanwo – Olu during the inauguration, pledged to work with the new leadership of the Assembly for the development of the state.
