Ogidigba Preaches Unity, Peace Among Amnesty Leaders, Seeks Halt to Protests, Urges Support For Otuaro

By Monday Peters, Abuja

The National Chairman of Phase 3 Amnesty Program, Gen Godstime Ogidigba has called on Niger Delta presidential amnesty leaders to abandon protests and petitions against the amnesty office.

In a statement, Ogidigba expressed disappointment with some leaders, particularly from Phase 1, who have been organizing protests and submitting petitions against High Chief Dennis Otuaro, PhD.

Ogidigba noted that the “pull him down” approach has only brought division and hatred to the Niger Delta region. He questioned the motives of leaders who have benefited from the amnesty office for over a decade, yet seek to undermine a fellow leader from Delta State who has resisted efforts to scrap the program.

The statement highlighted the significant contributions of High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo (Tompolo) in keeping the amnesty program alive.

Ogidigba urged leaders to unite and support Otuaro, saying it’s time to prioritize the region’s interests over personal agendas.

However, the appeal for calm aimed to promote unity among Niger Delta leaders and ensure the amnesty program continues to benefit the region.
