Ondo Man Stabs Neighbour to Death Over ₦14,000 Debt

Tragedy struck in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State when a 25-year-old man, identified as Fisayo Ajetumobi, was allegedly stabbed to death during a quarrel over a ₦14,000 debt.
The suspect, Wale Ibrahim, reportedly confronted the victim over the money owed, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into violence. Eyewitnesses said Ibrahim drew a knife and stabbed Ajetumobi multiple times, leaving him in a pool of blood.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. Local residents, angered by the incident, attempted to lynch the suspect before security operatives intervened and took him into custody.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said the case is under investigation and assured that justice will be served.
Community leaders have since appealed for calm, urging residents not to take laws into their own hands as the matter is being handled by the authorities.
