Ozoro Incident: Delta Attorney-General, Police Partner for Swift Investigation, Prosecution

The Delta State Government has strengthened collaboration with the Police to ensure a thorough investigation and prompt prosecution of those involved in the recent Ozoro incident that sparked public concern.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Aina Adesola, on Monday, March 23, 2026, received a delegation from the Office of the Attorney-General of the State at the Command Headquarters in Asaba.
The delegation was led by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekemejero Ohwovoriole, SAN, alongside members of the Command’s management team.
Speaking during the visit, the Attorney-General commended the Police for their swift response in restoring calm in Ozoro following the incident. He assured that the State Government would continue to support law enforcement agencies to ensure diligent prosecution of all individuals found culpable.
He noted that bringing offenders to justice would not only address the immediate situation but also serve as a deterrent to others.
In his response, CP Adesola expressed appreciation for the visit and the State Government’s support, noting that proactive measures had already been taken to prevent a recurrence.
He revealed that he personally visited Ozoro to engage key stakeholders and has directed the investigation team to fast-track efforts toward ensuring that all those directly involved in the incident are brought to justice.
The Police Commissioner further reassured residents that the Command remains committed to upholding law and order, emphasizing that all identified culprits will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The Command reiterated its resolve to maintain peace and security across the state, urging members of the public to remain calm and cooperate with ongoing investigations.
