Pa. Biakpara Clocks 79 With A Surprise Birthday Party From UIAA

Renowned Nigerian politician and retired Air Force officer, Wing Commander Pa. PY Biakpara, has turned 79, with a surprise birthday party organized by University of Ibadan Alumni Association, UIAA, Warri Chapter to mark his achievements and service to the nation.

Congress gathered that his actual birthday was to be March 25, 2026, but the UIAA decided to throw in its surprise birthday on Sunday 22nd March, 2026. The surprise birthday celebration is being held amidst fanfare at his residence in Warri, Delta State.

The event gathered ‘who is who’ in Delta State politics including top government functionaries, academic dons, Senior military officers, past and present, oil moguls, business magnets, traditional Chiefs and community leaders.

Commander Pa. Biakpara, a prominent figure in the Ijaw National Congress (INC), has had a distinguished career spanning over two decades in the military, where he held various positions, including Officer Commanding Engineering Wing Ikeja, Officer Commanding Presidential Fleet, and Directing Staff at the Senior Division, Air. He was born on March 25, 1947, in Tuomo, Delta State.

The surprise birthday celebrations are a testament to the respect and admiration Commander Biakpara commands in Nigeria. He has been recognized for his contributions to Nigerian politics and his advocacy for the rights of the Ijaw people.

As he celebrates this milestone birthday, Commander Pa. Biakpara continues to be involved in Nigerian politics, serving as a member of the Governing Council of Delta State University, Abraka.

After retiring from the military, he transitioned into politics, serving as:
• Member of the House of Representatives (1992-1995)
• Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Niger Delta Affairs (1999-2003)
• Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Delta State (2003-2005)
• Vice President, Ijaw National Congress (2000-2004)”

Pa. Biakpara is also known for his advocacy work, particularly in promoting the rights and interests of the Ijaw people. He has been involved in various initiatives aimed at addressing the challenges facing the Niger Delta region.
