Following the confusion trailing the amnesty programme, the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Dixon Dikio (rtd), has made fresh revelations that the ongoing verification exercise had revealed that a single camp leader siphoning about 400 people’s beneficiaries money into his account.

The PAP coordinator disclosed this during a meeting with
the leaders of the three phases of the amnesty programme in Agadagba-Obon, Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State during the weekend.

The amnesty boss alleged that one of the discovery during the verification exercise was that one camp leader (name withheld) was receiving money of 400 ghost beneficiaries.

Col.Dikio, added there was no going back in the reform of the programme in spite of various criticism against him.

According to him, “One of the major discoveries of the ongoing verification was how a particular unnamed person has been receiving, for years, monies meant for 400 people in connivance with some government officials.”

The PAP Administrator narrated that despite some accounts belonging to some of ex-agitators, were suspended during the exercise, it did not translate to total cancelation of the accounts and their issue would be looked into, assuring that all cleared accounts would be paid outstanding stipend arrears.

He explained that his vision for the PAP was anchored on promoting entrepreneurship and building a peaceful Niger Delta that would be a reference point as an ideal place to live and do business because of its climatic stability.

Dikio, while calling on all those with whatever complaints to use the available channels including the PAP call centre number to lodge their complaints, the administrator declared that he was determined to leave a strong legacy for posterity to judge him.

“I am not deterred by those, who have made me their project to criticize. The reforms we have embarked on are not targeted at anyone or group but to sanitize the system,” he stressed.
